The tailoring program is a one-year course covering most aspects of the profession: sewing and design, batik and tie and die techniques,
machine embroidery and knitting. The future tailors also learn English every day and those who have an interest in arts can participate in extra
workshops (drawing, painting, bag making…). The products of the tailoring group are proudly exhibited and sold whenever Mkombozi is hosting an
event.
Upon completion of the programme, the graduates receive a certificate, along with a working tool for those who cannot afford one. They thus start
off their working life with solid skills and the means to put them into practice.
